Via aviel draydenWARNING!!!!!! I HIGHLY ENCOURAGED THAT YOU DONT HIRE THIS LAW FIRM!!!! I hired Marc Girling for a... quiet title and he is the most unprofessional unethical lawyer i have ever met. I paid Marc Girling $5000 for a quiet title suit some family issues arose after then he decided to represent me in probate court. Marc Girling subpoena the wrong doctor. He never showed up to court. He throws temper tantrums. Also, he will waste your time and money. Moreover, he may have powerful friends in high places. I filed two grievances against Marc Girling for breaking rule 1.15d of the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct and rule 10 of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure with the Texas State Bar. Although Marc admitted that he broke the law (IN WRITING) the Texas State Bar threw out my two grievances for lack of evidence. There is a cover up for this unprofessional untrustworthy attorney. Marc Girling has done nothing but cause disappointment after disappointment with having $5000 going down the drain do not pay attention to these good reviews because it is a scam. Please review the pics i have attached on his facebook page to show proof of his professional misconduct.read more

I used Girling law to help me get tenants out of my house in Sept 2021 who would not pay the rent. Initially I spoke... with a gentleman named Alan. He was very helpful and patient with my questions. Overall, I had a good experience with him over the course of about 3 to 4 weeks. Girling law was supposed to send a certified letter and demanding that the tenants evacuate. My tenants claim they never received the letter and Alan claimed that the letter was sent. I was never given any proof that they received it. I'm not sure who was telling me the truth with regard to this. However, once they did evacuate I called garling and asked them to close my case. I spoke with an emailed a lady named Stephanie. She was helpful at first but then I couldn't get a hold of her. This gentleman Allen then quit returning all of my calls and I couldn't get anywhere on closing my case. Things started to drag on and I got very frustrated. Call after call email after email. I don't remember what brought it about but after a couple of months Marc Girling himself called me up. He apologized for the confusion and the delay. He , as did everybody at this particular time noted that they had some staffing challenges and that some of these people were no longer with the firm. He apologized again and let me know. He would personally make sure that I got the remainder of my retainer. It was just a couple of days and I received the check.Overall my experience was not flawless. I was very upset for a short while, but I really appreciated Marc himself taking care of the issue. I can't speak for other clients but I personally would give gerling law firm another chance if I needed representation for an eviction in the future. My interaction with Marc was very good and he was very kind and polite.read more

Warning Stay Away from this law firm or you will get ripped off . They ripped me off. Rude lawyer all about money and... poor service. I am in the process of reporting this lawyer to Texas Bar for failure to do their job . Over charging and refusing to return my original documents. Contract was for $1700 that was already too high and then stole $2700 from my credit card never finished the process never put the judgment on tenants record as per contract. I had to to do all that myself. I wish I had read his reviews before hiring him where his clients are calling him A CROOKED LAWYER. In October 2018 we retained Girling Law, PLLC for a simple eviction. We received little for our investment and much... difficulty getting our $1250 retainer refunded despite numerous efforts. A complaint was filed with Better Business Bureau in April 2019 with no response from Girling Law or Marc Girling. Finally with a formal complaint lodged with the Tarrant County Bar Association arbitration was successful in "encouraging" Mr. Marc Girling to provide reimbursement of my refund in August 2019..I would avoid this company as there are others out there with the support of Better Business Bureau and more positive reviews than negative ones.BEWARE!read more

They are representing a Landlord who refuses to fix the leak in the gas line under the house. It's been about a month... and he hasn't fixed the problem so I have been without hot water, heat, or gas stove. We contacted the city (code) a few weeks ago. They been coming by and trying to contact our landlord and he refuses to respond. They tested everything. In retaliation, the landlord hired this company to send us an eviction notice for not paying rent. I paid my rent for January. On time. So I don't see how I would get an eviction notice for not paying my rent. We are going on February, Monday. Very frustrated. And as a Veteran, who served our country, saddened.read more

What my husband Steven failed to mention was that no one in the office could bother to take the lawsuit to the court,... it was sent FEDEX! That is unprofessional. Second, his "paralegal" marked our rental as LIHTC aka Low Income Housing Tax Credit on the Verification of Compliance with Section 4024 of the Cares Act form. We own our rental OUTRIGHT and absolutely do not file a LIHTC and never told anyone in his office to make them think this. It is my belief if the Girling Law Firm had filed our lawsuit in the CORRECT JP Court, we would not have been told by Marc himself, to change the locks which in turn cost us over $5,000 to settle in court with another attorney, when we were served with a WRIT OF REENTRY after changing said locks.Mr. Girling, I do not appreciate your call threatening to sue us for Defamation of Character for the Google review my husband left. Is it Defamation if what Steven and now myself have given a TRUE review? I have the paperwork to back up everything that has been written. You sir, should DEFINITELY take your cases more seriously. You and your staff have made so many errors in filing our lawsuit which YOU supposedly looked over and approved, at least we were charged for that. Oh, and when we were supposedly sent a check for the remaining balance of our retainer, the check was sent to our previous address instead of our new address WHICH THEY WERE GIVEN, and WE were charged $35.00 because THEY had to cancel the check THEY sent to the wrong address. It's a joke!In closing, I would not recommend the Girling Law Firm to a sworn enemy! You will be told by staff exactly what they SHOULD say however, it may or may not be true/done/being worked on/filed/almost ready to be filed, etc.Tina Jetteread more

Run as fast as you can from this firm and save yourself a lawsuit. It’s my fault for not reading these reviews... first. The initial sales representative will tell you exactly what you want to hear but the back office staff is clueless. Even Marc the attorney does NOT know what he is doing. It took a month of us bothering them and asking why they have not filed the eviction yet. The answer we were given is, _____ no longer works for us anymore. Wow, how is that my problem? He managed to make it our problem for sure. They did end up finally filing but in the wrong court and we even informed them LONG before, the correct court it needed to be filed in. Meanwhile the tenant is doing damage to the home and we called to ask what we could do. Marc told us to enter the home and see if they are actually home, with food, bed, etc. The house was abandoned and he told us to change the locks and then place their few things out on the driveway.A week later we were served a writ of entry. We went to court with a real attorney and found out from the judge that we were given illegal advice by locking them out. We ended up having to settle for twice the amount of money Marc originally stole from us. It’s amazing to me that someone like this has not had his license to practice suspended or disbarred.read more

All the negative (and positive) reviews were pulled from google in the last week or 2. My experience here as a landlord... was not good. Absolute rip-off. They will drain your retainer for the most ridiculous reasons. They sent a certified letter to my... tenant. My tenant immediately started moving so I stopped the process with the law firm. They charged me to “review” the files. That one certified letter cost me $1,000! Also, do not trust their “Business Manager”. He charged me $2500 retainer. I read the agreement and decided not to move forward. He called me back and said the attorney looked at my file and agreed to do it for $1,950. The day I spoke with the attorney he had no idea what I was talking about. Also, the initial call with the attorney I was charged for his time and the time of two paralegals. Do yourself a favor and find another law firm.read more

Do not do business with Girling Law.They tout great communication and sell you on sweet words, then turn around and... leave you in the dark while draining your retainer dry doing things you specifically agreed not to.Then they send you what's left of your retainer and it's 65% less than expected because there are invoices they never shared with you and they charged you for their mistakes, and to fix them! This firm moved forward with a lawsuit against my tenants, after we explicitly agreed not to, and served them papers, causing unnecessary tension and hostility with family that was never intended (which we made VERY clear from the start). They said it was "just to protect us" and that they didn't know the tenants were moving out. This was absolutely untrue, as I have record of notifying them when the tenants got a new place, when they got their keys, and when they were moving out (verified by myself). There was no excuse, and we agreed to not move forward - absurd! They not only refused to make it right and remove those costs from my bills, but charged me to file the nonsuit to make everything go away - plus whatever else is in those invoices they never shared with us but obviously charged against our retainer.I cannot believe how unprofessional this engagement was and the blatant lack of communication both internally within the Girling Law team and externally with their clients. Plus, obviously, the nearly $1000 that was basically stolen from us.To add insult to injury, we were sent another client's agreement initially, and none of their canned video updates were in the context our case. It really was quite pathetic.Stay far, far away.read more

I don’t know where to start with this review but I wish there was a ZERO star to rate. Our experience with Marc was... EXTREMELY horrible and a nightmare to say the least. They ask you to pay the retainer fee before they send you a contract to sign. They sent me an email stating that if I do not sign the contract, they will refund me the whole amount – which is expected from any company. They sent it to me on Thursday late afternoon and I responded on Saturday morning. After waiting 2 months, Marc refused to pay me the retainer because they claimed that they did work for me (really!??!) and then he went further by threatening to sue me personally. So let’s think about this for a second – I was about to hire a lawyer who in turn wanted to sue me? LOL! Keep in mind that the amount wasn’t $100. We’re talking thousands here. He lied in every message he communicated with me. When I began the dispute process, he used absurd language with me “his client” by calling me cheap, deceitful, dishonest, a cheater, etc. The funny thing is that when he was insulting me in the emails, he kept referring to information that wasn’t even true to my case, which confirms that he never even read my file. I rarely write reviews but I strongly feel the need for this one. He is a lawyer that you should NOT hire or deal with. I wish I never contacted his office for any service. When you read my review I really hope that I can save someone from doing any business with him and prevent a LOT of headache and stress.read more

I won with Girling but STILL LOST MONEY...By the time they are done with you, you'll have paid them $10K plus and then... they'll keep half of any settlement you make. They never even tell you they are NOT in your best interest financially. But they are not. They are just taking more of your money than you already lost from bad tenants. Ridiculous. A lot of the terms are carefully hidden in the many documents you sign. They sound legit and fine when you sign (or resign but don't remember resigning). But you don't realize when you're in court under pressure from a judge to settle, that settling is not in your best interest. The lawyer never says that. I should have just let the judge make his decision and issue the judgment against my tenants. He already made it clear he was on my side. I would not recommend them. Find a regular real estate attorney with consistent great reviews. This place is a high volume shop that has ripping off vulnerable, and already screwed people down to a science. Their entire business model is about charging $5-10K for legal PLUS taking 25-50% or more of your settlement (which is typically just the back rent or money tenants owe you, not additional damages or attorney's fees, which I would have gotten in the judgment had I not settled - it was included in the settlement if tenant's defaulted on the settlement agreement). They don't do enough to earn that kind of money for 1 or 2 hearings where you don't even get the lawyer you hired in court (they send someone else not in their firm and warn you about their quirks but assure you it will be fine). Also, I'm not posting under my full legal name but rest assured, I really did use them. Most comms were with Dale, then Katherine - a paralegal.Read all the reviews. Yes, they are heated and emotional. Reviews are from real clients who experienced much of what I did. I didn't listen to the reviews. The initial contract looked worth the investment. It was the added fees and the stair step settlement fees that screwed me. Do a very careful analysis of what tenant has cost you versus what Girling Law Firm could cost you before hiring them. There are other attorneys who charge more up front but no hidden fees or crazy, increasing settlement amounts as case goes on.read more

I couldn't be happier with the firm. It was a frustrating process and they answered any and all of my questions even... after we won the case, the constable was notified and I was done paying them. I see alot of negative things about money spent and I can say its worth it. Especially if you don't know what you're doing. If you mess up any step of the process you would have to start all over again. So you could lose more money along the way. If you can do it yourself, by all means. But if you have no idea what you're doing because of unauthorized tenants, or being a first time landlord call them and put a retainer down immediately and get the process started. You should already know it will cost plenty of money so definitely be prepared. You are paying for a service and thisis costing them money to get started too. They were amazing, I must say. And believe it or not they were cheaper than the others I called. Not to mention they are landlord supporters. It makes a difference. Thanks for all you did guys!read more
